HOUSTON – August 12, 2021 – PickleJar, an emerging peer-to-peer cashless tipping platform for artists and content creators, announced the launch of an additional Houston-based PickLounge™, an on-premise entertainment activation program to support emerging local artists and musicians through exclusive partnerships with participating venues, at McIntyre’s new location in downtown Houston. The venue will debut up-and-coming music talent in collaboration with the PickleJar app, beginning with the officially unveiling on August 18th, 2021.

McIntyre’s Downtown will feature a “tipworthy” Texas artist every Wednesday night in their PickLounge. PickLounge events at McIntyre’s Downtown will include in-person and livestreaming performances by the artists and provide opportunities for fans to use the PickleJarTM iOS app to send cashless gratuity tips and “notes” to the artists. These “notes” are a unique feature of the PickleJar app that allows fans to directly engage with the artist while they are performing on stage.

“We are very excited to garner our relationship with Chase and the entire McIntyre’s team to create this PickLounge and generate personalized connections between fans and artists,” says Kristian Barowsky, PickleJar President. “PickLounges help create customer communities and opportunities for people to use our cashless tipping app to connect with and engage with musicians as they perform.”

In addition, as part of the PickleJar venue program, the PickleJar app will act as a central hub for patrons to access future McIntyre’s Downtown events, featured menus, specials, and more. PickleJar will also enable fans at the venue to tip the featured artist without downloading the app by using one of the QR codes located throughout the venue.

“We see this collaboration as a great way to better engage our patrons and bring more awareness to these local performers,” said Chase McIntyre, owner of McIntyre’s Heights and McIntyre’s Downtown. “Our customers have always thoroughly enjoyed the live music aspect and PickleJar helps them to better connect with and tip the artists they like.”

Additionally, PickleJar has partnered with other regional promoters to create PickSpots, “pop-up” performances at unique and trendy venues featuring local music in partnership with organizations dedicated to making a social impact. The goal of the PickLounge and PickSpots is to combine music, artist performances and progressive forms of entertainment, technology, and marketing to activate consumers and create a powerful social impact on both a local and national level.
